Dancing In The Skyline

The scenery of downtown Kuala Lumpur is set to be redefined by the curvaceous silhouettes of 8Conlay – three shapely figures reaching for the skies standing out ami‍‍‍dst a field of conventional buildings.

Home to the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower,‍‍‍ Kuala Lumpur has no shortage of tall structures. Soon however, right at the heart of town, a trio of distinctive sculptures is currently rising, adding much-welcomed flair to a sea of square angular buildings.


The 8Conlay luxury development by KSK Land, scheduled for completion in 2020, features branded serviced residences, a high-end shopping mall, and a renowned five-star hotel in one spectacular location.

Owing to its strategic location at the heart of town, 8Conlay offers an all-encompassing view over downtown Kuala Lumpur, presenting occupants a stellar urban backdrop. It is also a short hop and skip from major urban attractions, with public transport within easy reach, be it, bus, taxi, or the city’s newly-completed MRT network.

Chinese inspiration underpins the distinctive shape of 8Conlay’s three towers. Spearheaded by Hud Bakar of RSP Architecture, the epic design takes visual cues from the philosophy of Yin and Yang, getting opposing forces complementing one another.

The interplay of convex and concave forms between the three building is inspired by the Chines‍‍‍e symbol for the number eight, a subtle nod to the development’s illustrious address whilst simultaneously asserting its place as an alluring platform for premium city living.

Tower A of 8Conlay will offer serviced residences designed by Steve Leung & YOO and operated by Kempinski, Europe’s oldest and most established hotel group internationally renowned for its hospitality and ‘remarkable European flair.’

Dwellings in Yoo8 range from sophisticated studio apartments to luxurious 3-bedroom units. Fittings are designs according to two themes – even-numbered floors are water-themed, whilst odd-numbered floors are wood-themed.

Services provided at Yoo8 will include valet service, 24-hour security, concierge service, doorman & porter, and 5-star a la carte dining.

Facilities consist of a Water Lounge on the 26th floor with pool and spa; swimmers can practice their laps in a 25m pool. Higher up on the 44th floor, the Green Refuge gives urban dwellers a leafy sanctuary in the sky, brimming with luscious flora and fauna as well as an elevated jogging path.

Tower B will also be offering serviced residences operated by Kempinski, but its designer will be announced at a later date. Combined, Towers A and B will have a total of 1,092 serviced residential units of various sizes.

Besides the serviced residences in Towers A & B, Kempinski will also be operating a standalone hotel and hotel residence to be set up in the third tower of 8Conlay. There will be a total of 260 Kempinski hotel rooms along with 403 units of Kempinski Residences apartments.

The hotel and residences will benefit from facilities such as a Kempinski The Spa, a well concept which offers offers herbal treatments inspired by the seasons, a gym, swimming pool and a variety of restaurants and bars inside the hotel complementing the offering of the central podium.
